Hi Everyone,

Thank you to everyone who came to our 2nd anniversary celebration, it was one of the best nights we've had at the academy! We have photos of the evening on our gallery, which has also been updated with several Alchemy events of the last year... see if you can spot yourself!

Ok, down to business... our NEW CHOREOGRAPHY for 2010 is coming!!!! To launch the show, we will be having an 'Alchemy Special' night at the Academy on Thursday 1st April. As well as our debut performance, on offer for you that evening will also be a special 'Music Appreciation' class which aims to enhance your dancing by giving you an invaluable insight into salsa music. Presented by Joe Chamberlain, It will be an interactive class with practical application to dancing, and will help to increase your appreciation, understanding, and 'musical ear'. This class is included in the usual fee and will replace the level 1-3 practice session. All other classes will be held as usual.

THIS WEEKEND IS ... DOUBLE PARTY WEEKEND!!

SATURDAY 20th March... Workshop & Salsa Social @ TLC SOUTHAMPTON

If you are serious about your Salsa, then join us for these workshops as they concentrate on the technique and quality of dance.

8pm Intermediate/Advanced workshop with Marchant
8pm Improvers workshop with Tracie
9.30pm Dancing until midnight with DJ Grooves

Entrance for workshops £10 (includes dancing until 11.40pm)
Entrance for party night only £7
Fantastic venue with air con, licensed bar and most of all an exceptionally friendly vibe.

SUNDAY 21st March... SALSA @ THE JAZZ CAFE. Join us at our fantastic club night, co-hosted with Dance2Salsa. We have Cha Cha at 2 levels & Salsa classes at 4 levels (including beginners). Club dancing is until midnight to the hottest mambo, salsa, latin jazz & cha cha played by DJ Davina & DJ Basil. If you miss it, you just know you're missing out!

The venue is the atmospheric Jazz Cafe at the Madejski Stadium, Reading. Classes are from 7.30pm. Only £8 all night.

ALCHEMY DANCE ACADEMY... 'ON TOUR'!!!

We already have nearly 30 people from the Academy booked for Salsa Splash Hayling Island, and are now also taking bookings for the Botley Salsa Splash weekender in July. You just don't want to miss out on these two fantastic events!

Also coming up...
On the Easter weekend we are working at 2 salsa All-dayers. The first is in London at Mambo City's 'Long Good Friday' where we will be teaching a class. On the Saturday we will be at the Bristol Easter Extravaganza where we will be teaching 2 workshops and performing our new show. Both events offer a great range of classes, shows and parties until late. Links for details below.

One of the biggest events for us on the calendar is Mambo City's 5 Star Salsa Congress 23-26 April. This is a truly amazing event for those of you who are serious about your dancing! At the congress will be some of the very best teachers and performers from across the globe. The event caters for all levels and styles, and is a chance to get a good taste of the salsa world and be inspired! We know there are already lots of people attending from the academy!
